Cancellation Policy And Punctuality

Our Policy on Cancellations and Failure to Attend

When you make an appointment at Finesse Dental, that time is reserved exclusively for you. We do not double book patients or squash appointments together; we schedule appointments for one patient, dedicating our resources and time to that patient for that time slot. Due to this, resources are wasted if you cancel without any notice.

If you need to cancel your appointment:

  • Please call us on (02) 8806 0790 or email us.
  • We require a minimum of 24 hours’ notice.

Our front desk staff will place a courtesy reminder SMS to you 1-2 days prior to your appointment. This will allow enough time to cancel your appointment ahead of schedule. We request a definite response to the SMS with a “Y” or “N”. If we do not receive a response atleast 24 hours prior to your appointment, your appointment may be cancelled and given to the next wait listed patient for the day. Please be aware that we will try our best to contact you to confirm your appointment before we are forced to cancel it.

Missed or broken appointments represent a cost to us, and to other patients who could have been seen in the time set aside for you.

CANCELLATION FEE

Since we turn away other patients to hold your appointment, any missed appointments or cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice will result in a cancellation charge.

Our fee is $50.00 per half hour of the appointment time. This includes 1/2hour appointments made consecutively for multiple family members.

Due to the difficulty of filling last-minute cancellations, we respectfully request 24 hours’ notice for ANY cancellations. We also may reserve the right to charge the cost of the treatment upfront before making another appointment. This is done if there are 3 or more cancellations. Please understand that we consider this a last resort, with the real motivating factor being our concern for the quality of service we can provide to you and to our other valued patients.

ARRIVING LATE

Arriving late will rob you of precious treatment minutes, as each appointment is scheduled long enough so that the Dentist is on time. If you are late you cause the Dentist to run behind schedule as well as eat away at time that was set aside especially for you. Due to this our policy is if you are late consecutively for a few of your appointments, we will have to ask for a deposit for your next treatment prior to your appointment.

We fully understand that sometimes being late is outside of your control. We are always happy to reschedule if you provide us with at least 24 hours’ notice before. This allows us to schedule in a patient who may be in urgent need of care in your place.

Unfortunately, arriving too late to perform the treatment may result in a cancellation charge.

Thank you for your understanding.

SATURDAY APPOINTMENTS

As a result of the extremely high demand for our Saturday bookings, we will require patients who make appointments on Saturday to place a $50 deposit (which can be done over the phone) to secure their booking. Please note that this $50 deposit will contribute towards payment of your dental treatment, if you attend your appointment.

We understand that sometimes life events arise that you just cannot cancel. If you do find that you need to reschedule your appointment, please contact us to let us know as soon as you are able, and at least 24 hours prior to your appointment, as this will provide us with sufficient time to place another patient in your time slot. Please understand that Saturdays are often the only days some patients are able to attend their dental appointments, and as such, are consistently in demand. In the case of cancellation with more than 24 hours of notice, your $50 deposit can still be used towards payment of your dental treatment, on your next rescheduled appointment and will be held as a deposit in your file.

If you do not present for your appointment, and fail to give us adequate notice, you will forfeit your $50 deposit, which will then be charged as a cancellation fee, therefore no longer held as a deposit in your file.
