Digital CT Scan

To inspect areas between the teeth, underneath fillings, and gum area where normal inspection is impossible, at least 2 digital X-rays will be taken. Unlike film X-ray, digital X-rays reduce 90 percent of exposure. Our dental radiologist may also take a digital 3D CT Scan of your teeth.

Dental Examination

This is followed by a professional examination of the teeth and gums. If there are no problems detected, a scaling and cleaning service may be done after the inspection. We recommend visiting us every six months for a thorough examination and clean.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is a comprehensive dental examination?

The name says it all! This is an opportunity for your experienced, fully-qualified dental professional to become aware of your dental history and dental needs. In addition, it allows us time to prepare a personalised treatment plan should you require one.

2. Why is a comprehensive dental examination necessary?

Your comprehensive dental examination is a thorough one-off appointment that gives us the time we need to ensure the proper dental detection and treatment for you. We may confirm that you have a perfect bill of dental health! Then again, we may identify the early signs of something that, if left untreated, could evolve into a more significant (and more costly) dental problem for you. A comprehensive dental examination gives you the peace of mind that your dental health and hygiene have been fully assessed by a professional, and you subsequently have the right treatment plan for you.

3. How long does a comprehensive dental examination take?

Assuming this is your first comprehensive dental examination with us, please set aside 40 to 50 minutes. After this, each subsequent six-monthly hygiene appointment typically requires only 30 – 40 minutes, depending on your changing dental needs.

4. Is a comprehensive dental examination painful?

No, a comprehensive dental examination with Finesse Dental is not painful. Our team of dental care professionals will make you feel very comfortable and relaxed. We want this to be a positive experience for you – the first step in a journey of ongoing excellent oral health maintenance.  If you’re feeling anxious, don’t worry. Just let our team know (you won’t be the first to tell us this… and you won’t be the last to leave pleasantly surprised!).

5. How much does a comprehensive dental examination cost?
Just contact our team, and we will be happy to share all our costs with you and some very effective payment plans.
